Graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by post graduate studies in air conditioning, refrigeration and mining ventilation leading to being awarded a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1990. He joined Watson Edwards (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg in 1982, and was appointed Director in 1992. He established and managed a branch office of Watson Edwards (Pty) Ltd on the island of Mauritius during the period 1993 to 1997. He retired from Watson Edwards in 1998 to join BESTEC. He was appointed a Director of BESTEC in 2000.
South African project experience included both directorial and design responsibility for major projects including luxury resort hotels in Mauritius and South Africa, shopping centres, multi storey offices, pharmaceutical plants and breweries.
Industrial design and construct projects included pet food manufacturing plants, chicken feed manufacturing plants and industrial beverage can washing deionised water production facilities.
Australian project experience covers commercial multi-storey offices, office fitouts, education facilities for schools and universities, high technology laboratories and clean room facilities, convention and entertainment facilities, defence facilities for the RAAF and Australian Submarine Corporation, aged care facilities and airports.
During the course of this project work, his technical experience and expertise extends to all aspects of Mechanical Building Engineering Services including air conditioning and ventilation to all types of buildings and applications, steam and boiler plant, viscous liquids pumping systems, plumbing and sanitary drainage systems, industrial gas and medical gas reticulation systems and fire protection systems.
Graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology with an Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Subsequent to graduation he spent 8 years with Lincolne Scott Australia Pty. Ltd. Due to his dedication and commitment to his career he has successfully completed an outstanding number of major projects for his relatively short career life.
There is possibly no more dedicated engineer practising in the field of Building Engineering Services Consulting within South Australia. In addition to his extensive design and construction experience he also contributes significantly to the internal management and planning of the production within the BESTEC organisation.
He was appointed an Associate Director of BESTEC in 1996 and a Director in 2000. Due to his extensive project experience his technical expertise extends over all disciplines of Building Engineering Services and for this reason he adopts the role of Project Manager for many of the major projects within the BESTEC organisation.
Graduated from the University of Adelaide with a double degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Mathematics/Computer Science in 2004 (with first class Honours). He is a Green Star Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of Australia. Mark joined BESTEC in January 2005 in the Electrical Services discipline and was appointed Director of BESTEC Victoria in 2015.
Graduated from the University of South Australia in Electrical Engineering (Hons.). After graduation he successfully completed a SAA Wiring Rules and Regulations Course and currently holds an Electrical “B Class” Workers Licence. Due to his work on many major projects within South Australia he is a member of the SA Power Networks Customer Liaison Panel which addresses issues and concerns from an electricity user’s perspective. He is also Green Star Qualified with the Green Building Council of Australia.
Robert was appointed Associate Director in 2006 and Director in 2010 and has developed an outstanding reputation for servicing clients in the delivery of Building Engineering Services in major construction type projects. He also has a vast knowledge of emerging technologies within the both electrical and telecommunications fields.
His interest also extends to the broader areas of the Property and Construction Industry and he is a Member of the Property Council of Australia’s Regulations and Technical Standards Committee.
